Marshall Bouldin is a successful portrait artist from Mississippi. He began his formal training at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After World War II, he apprenticed at a studio of commercial artists in Chicago and later in Connecticut. He opened his own studio in New York before returning to his family's Mississippi plantation.
